Itinerary

Start at 8 am and take a 3 hour drive from Negombo or Colombo. Kitulgala is in a patch of rain-forest which attracts many tourists for its natural beauty. Take a 1.5km trek to natural rock pools and waterfalls of kataran-Oya. There are 7 natural pools where you will be able to experience sliding down an inclined 5 metre waterfall into a rock-pool. Then afterwards, experience White Water Rafting in the picturesque Kelani River. Which covers 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids. The distance covered is around 5km. The river and its surroundings will make you feel enchanted, with a memorable experience during your White Water Rafting Tour in Kitulgala. After this great experience. Enjoy a Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch. Transfer back to Negombo or Colombo. Approximately 3 hours drive

This activity is for anyone above the age of 10 years with safety gear, modern rafts, and a comprehensive safety briefing will be given by our white water rafting instructors beforehand.

The Academy Award-winning movie The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala. Although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge.
