Visitors to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage can observe these majestic animals up close as they roam freely around the grounds. The orphanage is home to many elephants, making it one of the largest elephant sanctuaries in the world.

In addition to watching the elephants, visitors can also participate in feeding and bathing them. The daily elephant bath is a highlight of the experience, as the elephants splash and play in the river under the watchful eye of their caretakers.

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is more than just a tourist attraction – it is also an important conservation effort to protect and care for Sri Lanka’s elephants. By visiting the orphanage, tourists can support these efforts while also having a once-in-a-lifetime experience with these gentle giants.
