Start from Negombo or Colombo 7.30am. Take a 2 hour drive to Pinnawala. Spend 2-3 hours with the elephants. Then visit Botanical Garden. Take Lunch. Watch Kandy Cultural dancing show. Afterwards Visit Tooth relic temple. Stay overnight in Kandy hotel.

Next morning after breakfast. The tour starts at 8 am with a visit to Dambulla cave temple, then drive to Sigiriya. Have Lunch and then afterwards climb Sigiriya rock then drive back to Negombo or Colombo.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is situated northwest of the town Kegalle. Halfway between the present capital Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. It was established 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife department. They are herded twice a day to bathe in the river.

Kandy

Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It’s set on a plateau surrounded by mountains. Which are home to tea plantations and bio diverse rain-forests. The city’s heart is the scenic lake which is popular for strolling. Also, for visiting the Temple of the Tooth.

Peradeniya Botanical garden

The botanical garden in Peradeniya is known as the most beautiful in the whole of Asia. Among other things you can see one of the highest birch fig tree on earth. You can explore over 4.000 different kinds of plants in an area of 60 hectares.

Dambulla cave temples are also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. It is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka. Located in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 kilometres east of Colombo and 72 kilometres north of Kandy.

Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress. It is located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka.  There are several approaches to the inner city and the most prominent is the Western entrance. From the summit of the rock. The land areas up to distances of tens of miles can be seen.

Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is snuggled in the hill country of Central Province. The tea plantations cannot fail to impress you. Most of which still use hand picking over mechanisation. Nuwara Eliya is also called “Little England”. Being in the Hill Country. The weather can be terribly English too. Expect cold and rain in the months of June, July and August.

Kitulgala

Kitulgala is also a base for white-water rafting, which starts a few kilometres upstream. Rafting or white water rafting is a challenging recreational outdoor activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on white water or different degrees of rough water.

Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura and start the city tour of ancient city (3rd century B.C to 10th century A.D). Visit Sri maha bodhi. The oldest tree in the world with a written history and it is a sapling from the original tree which the Buddha attained enlighten under it. The brazen palace, Ruwanveli seya dagoba. The biggest stupa in Sri Lanka.

Mihintale

Visit Mihintale monastery complex built in the 3rd century B.C. The place where Buddhism was established for the first time in Sri Lanka. Ruins of an Ancient hospital, Refectory hall, Lion pond, Cobra pond, Ambastale, and Mihindu cave and then proceed to Aukana to see the highest Buddha statue in Sri Lanka, in one piece of granite 13 meters in height built in the 5th century A.D. This statue built by King Datusena while he was building the gigantic reservoir called Kala wewa.

View the largest gathering of native elephants in their natural environment. You can watch them graze on grasses growing on the tank bed, playing & bathing. Perhaps you’ll also spot some of the park’s other diverse wildlife. Including deer, wild buffalo, pink-faced leaf monkeys, Eagle, owl, peacocks, assorted birds and iguana.

Next morning after breakfast. The tour starts at 8 am with a visit to Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery Centre. Afterwards explore Galle. Afterwards take lunch, then back to Negombo or Colombo.

Yala National Park

Yala National Park is the 2nd largest but most famous National park in Sri Lanka. It is the best place to spot Asian elephants & leopards in Sri Lanka. You can also see black bear, deer, crocodiles, peacocks, hornbills and the gray languor monkeys which keep you company along the route.

Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery Centre

Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery Centre is where you will find lots of information about Sri Lanka’s pioneering sea turtle conservation project. In addition to that, learn why Sri Lanka is a prime turtle nesting site. In conclusion you will find out why the conservation project is needed. Also how the project is operated by local people with the help of international volunteers.

Galle Fort

Galle Fort was first built in 1588 by the Portuguese. Then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. The Fort has a real European feel about the place and has many boutique shops and trendy cafes.

Wilpattu National Park

The Wilpattu National Park is both the oldest National Park in Sri Lanka. Of all the wildlife that can be seen on safari in the Wilpattu National Park. There are two very special animals take pride of place. One is the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear which is a recognised subspecies of the Sloth Bear. The other animal of note in Wilpattu is the Sri Lankan Leopard. The Leopard is a subspecies of the Indian Leopard and is currently the largest in Asia.
